It's all about turnout
Thanks to everyone who worked the phone banks and canvassing and did the GOTV thing; you guys were KEY. I am an election officer in my county, and after comparing notes with other officers, I can tell you that the Democrats had a significant presence at the GOTV table , republicans did not.

What I found interesting was that approximately 2-2.5% of the republican voters inquired about CHANGING THEIR REGISTRATION!
No not to democratic, but away from republican.

Keep the heat on, and thanks to people like DUer Laura W. (can't remember her screen name :)) in my precinct for their tireless efforts to GOTV. You guys in the trenches earned this victory.

1. That's amazing!!!
Thanks for sharing that! My poor hubby changed to Independent last month. These people (neocons) sure aren't Republicans anymore.

2. The Unions pulled this out
In my area, most of the volunteers were union members. They worked tirelessly to GOTV. Here's to the teachers, nurses, and all the other union members. A sincere thank you.

3. 30% or so in my hood. 41% (I think) in Haight Ashbury.
So much for dropping out!

Our Sunset district is moving from being pretty conservative to being more liberal.

I'm sure you're right. Have to hook up with the Dump Ahnold folks today because winning is great.

5. Thanks, folks. I worked a bit to GOTV last election, but we all know
how that turned out. :( :( :(

My county is red and went 60% for the weed, even though I am in Kah-lee-foh-nee-ah.
