Sacramento DUers: Did you see "Armstrong and Getty"?
I was in the Sac area working this weekend and I caught some of Channel 58's puke morning talkshow. I didn't see the outcome but they were apparently pissed off that Bill O'Reilly had stolen their idea that San Francisco deserved a terrorist attack. They'd apparently advocated the same thing a couple of weeks ago!

When I left my hotel they were waiting for O'Reilly to call. Not sure if he ever did. Wonder if anyone "out there" can fill me in on details?

1. No. didn't see it. But ...
... Armstrong & Getty are two of the dumbest assclowns in town, save for their fellow Clear Channel employee Mark "Adolf Chipmunk" Williams. I occasionally switch past that A&G show during the week, and the non-existent production values ("Hey, let's point a camera at two stupid wingnut white guys while they're doing their crappy excuse for a morning radio show!") make for scintillating TV — if you like to watch paint dry.

Once I was a guest on their show, and one of those dicks called me a "communist." Gee, there's an original wingnut epithet.

2. "Communist' name calling
That is Sooooooo 1950s.

I was phone banking for SchwarzenLOSER's Evil Take-over Election and a Repug that I got on the phone called me a communist. And then, like the chicken poo that he is, he hung up real quick--like a kid after a prank call. Mature, huh?

Here...here's some red crayons, Bubba. Now go back to your coloring book with Shrubby Bubbles---he's waiting for you.

3. Hey, I listen to A&G every day.
Jacks a moderate-conservative, Joe's more of a plain old moderate. Neither one has ever actually revealed their political affiliations on the show, but they certainly ARE both Ahnold fans (sadly, there are STILL many people here who are...even people who don't like his governoring skills tend to approve of him on a personal level).

The thing to remember about A&G is that it's a morning COMEDY/DISCUSSION show. They aren't a political show like Rush Windbag or O'Lielley. When they do get into political issues (usually only just before elections), they can be all over the map. They support abortion rights, they liked Clinton, they thought Bush was an idiot during BOTH elections, they think the war in Iraq is stupid, and yet they like Ahnold and supported every damned one of his propositions.

They're a mixed bag politically, but I don't listen to them for their politics (and I've only watched the TV feed a handful of times). I listen to them because they're FUNNY, and there's no cow so sacred that they won't grill it up and serve it with fries.

If it means anything to you, they get blasted all the time by fundies who call them liberal. They're equal opportunity annoyers :)

And as to the SF thing: They made a JOKE about terrorists attacking San Francisco. O'Reilley was serious about it. Their indignation about their idea being "stolen" wasn't serious...they were having fun with the fact that O'Reilley is an idiot.

4. Well, they had me fooled
But I only saw about five minutes' worth. I used to live up there but I was never a morning person--I only watch morning TV in hotel rooms (kind of a weird little tradition for me). It's funny if they are doing this totally ironically!
