20,000 votes left to count for Charlie Brown - He is fighting for a full and accurate count

Here is the email I received today from the Charlie Brown campaign:

If Florida in 2000 has taught us anything, it's that having a fair and accurate election result is far more important than having a quick one.

For three weeks now, 9 California counties have worked long hours tallying vote by mail and provisional ballots. And they continue to report their initial results to the Secretary of State's office > http://www.charliebrownforcongress.org/lists/lt.php?id=cUVWVAcFUQhXSAJQCE4AVVYNUw%3D%3D, with thousands left to be reported.

While Tom McClintock narrowly leads after more than 366,000 votes have been tabulated, what is shocking is the number of votes that have not been counted.

Already, we know that more than 2,000 Vote by Mail and Provisional ballots have been "disqualified" district-wide during the initial canvass. And from the returns we saw in other counties, we know these ballots were breaking substantially in our favor.

We also know that an extraordinary number of "under votes" were recorded in this election-more than 15,000 in CA 04 alone . An "under vote" is a ballot where the tabulating machine was not able to discern a vote for Congress. And a hand count of these ballots is certain to yield discernable votes for Congress on many of them.

Our objective today remains the same as it has always been---for every vote to be counted. And your financial support enables us to deploy the expert legal teams needed to preserve the fundamental voting rights---rights I was proud to devote my life to defending in the military-to every registered voter who cast a legal ballot in this election.
