Help give input at the Police-Community Meetings in Fresno

I was at the Police - Community Meeting at Fresno Pacific last Monday and thought it was well done. I was disappointed that so few people attended and that the attendees just didn't represent the diversity of Fresno or even of the SE community. There were 17 attendees. Nearly all were elderly home owners and apartment managers. The Police Department is passing out a few flyers and calling that effort 'publicity'.

Police personnel easily outnumbered the crowd. They divide the crowd into small groups with the discussion in each group let by a Deputy Chief or Captain. I thought it worked. I certainly got my two cents in.

There is a meeting in a different part of the city every Monday evening during June. The meetings are all scheduled to start at 5:30 pm and go to 7:00 or 7:30.

WE NEED TO GET SOME PEOPLE TO THESE MEETINGS SO THAT THEY CAN BE A BENEFIT TO THE COMMUNITY!

The next meeting is for the SW Community this Monday, June 8. It will be at 1350 E. Annadale - Mary Ella Brown Center (formerly Ivy Center) between MLK/Elm.. Capt. Mike Reid is handling the planning for this event.

There are 3 remaining meetings after that:

The meeting in Ne on June 15th will be located at 1343 E. Barstow (Westley United Methodist Church). Capt. Lydia Carrasco is handling the planning for this event.

The meeting in NW on June 22nd is at the Pindedale Community Center. Capt. Andy Hall is handling the planning for this event.

The meeting in Central on June 29th will take place at the Ted C Wills center. Capt. Andy Hall is handling the planning for this event.

Earth tones. Casual fridays. Tasteful minis--not below mid-thigh of course.

Seriously, it should be law that las juras--Fresno, and all of CA--tape all busts, all the time. Also require them to ride in pairs, preferable M & F.
