She's termed out of the assembly (where she accomplished nothing) and has set her eyes on this office after also looking at running for Secretary of State and County Treasurer. She's challenging Linda Parks, who is a moderate Republican who has support from both sides because she's done a good job. This is a non-partisan race, but the county GOP is bent on making this RINO vs. Conservative fight, when it's about local issues. I think it's also a bit of revenge because Parks endorsed Democrat Hannah Beth-Jackson over Tony Strickland in the 2008 19th District State Senate race.
