Brown: "Most current political appointees are welcome to stay on"
http://www.vcstar.com/news/2010/nov/30/californians-living-in-a-certain-unreality/

Since his election a month ago, Gov.-elect Jerry Brown has pretty much gone into hiding. He’s made no splashy announcements about appointments, revealed no plans for even a modest inaugural party.

Brown turned down the use of a transition office and has chosen instead to operate mostly out of the sparsely furnished, converted warehouse in Oakland that he used for his campaign headquarters.

He has made it known that most current political appointees are welcome to stay on, as he’s in no rush do anything other than confront the elephant that will greet him at the door of the Governor’s Office: a massive, $25 billion budget shortfall.

Let me see if I've got this straight. We moved heaven and Earth to elect a Dem governor in the face of a $140 million onslaught from NutMeg -- and the first thing he does is to tell Arnie's repuke department heads they can stay on?! :wtf:

1. And so it begins: He just reappointed Arnie's budget director
http://www.latimes.com/news/local/politics/la-me-brown-20101208,0,2653669.story

Gov.-elect Jerry Brown filled two key positions Tuesday, saying in his first major announcement since winning election that he will keep Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's budget director and hire a veteran of his own previous tenure to head the state's huge Health and Human Services agency....

The appointments also signal two trends that are expected to continue as Brown fills out his administration — asking many Schwarzenegger appointees to stay on while reaching back to his own stable of former aides to round out the new government.

I was astonished to learn that the said budget director is a Dem!
