California isn't Wisconsin, Nielsen tells Tea Party
California isn't Wisconsin, Nielsen tells Tea Party

February 21, 2011 11:02:00 PM
By Ryan McCarthy/Appeal-Democrat
Don't expect this state to undertake the try to cut public employee benefits that Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker seeks, State Assemblyman Jim Nielsen told the Sutter Buttes Tea Party meeting Monday in Yuba City.

"California is nowhere near Wisconsin right now," Nielsen said. "Would that it could be."

Nielsen, a Tehama County resident and Republican who represents the 2nd district that includes Yuba City, spoke before more than 60 people, including Linda resident and oil field worker Glenn Gould, 46, who said he's leaving California for Colorado because of its high taxes.
