Goodbye B of A, looking for a credit union.

Well, DU friends, I'm bailing out of B of A. I've had the same checking account for thirty-eight years, but this last "$5.00 for using your debit card" is the nail in the coffin for me. Greedy bastards. There's no way I'm going to standby and watch those good people protesting on Wall Street and not take action myself.

Any suggestions for credit unions in the Ventura County, specifically, the Thousand Oaks area?

1. Try the Golden 1 CU

They have branches in Camarillo, Thousand Oaks and Westlake Village.

It's a statewide outfit. I've used them for about 25 years now and they've been great to deal with.

I've bought cars, trucks and got home improvement loans through them. Plus checking accounts etc. I pay all my bills on line through their website.

make sure they have recprocity with other CUs. I've been in Tucson for almost a year but my credit union is in San Leandro, Ca. It has only been the tiniest of inconvenience more than made up for by my hatred of Bankster of America. A.P. must be rolling in his grave.
