Shriver doubts Constitution will be amended to help husband run
SACRAMENTO (AP) -- Maria Shriver believes there should be an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would allow her husband, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, to run for president but doubts that it will be enacted.

"Forget about it," California's first lady says in an article in the January edition of Vanity Fair, which is scheduled to hit newsstands Wednesday. "It is not going to happen. The process takes years, and this is as far as it goes."

She said there "absolutely" should be an amendment that would allow Republican Schwarzenegger and other naturalized citizens to run for president. "We are a nation of immigrants."

It would take two-thirds votes in Congress and approval by at least 38 states to adopt such an amendment.

3. Even if they started voting on it today
it would never be finalized before 2008.
Sort of doubt Arnie would get the nomination anyway since he's married to a Kennedy and much of the religious right is now calling him the anti-christ.

6. WTF are this man's qualifications for running California's bidness,
let alone America's bidness??? I don't see any... unless you consider his groping a talent needed by higher ups. The world has gone completely mad... or at least the American political system has, and that's a fact.

7. Qualification, malification,
what does it matter? Qualification is out the door and marketing is in. It's my understanding that, in this country, less than a month ago, they marketed a bona fide idiot against a qualified candidate, and guess what? The bona fide idiot won.
