Which Democrat should challenge Feinstein?
I know that there are some of you that are angry with DLC Senator Dianne Feinstein for her leaning towards supporter her good friend Condaleeza "Valdez" Rice. So which Democrat should run against her. I mean a real Democrat unlike Feinstein's Republican Lite tendencies. Somebody that Deans Democracy for America group can get behind.

1. There's only one Democratic Senator that I'd like to see challenged and...
he resides in Connecticut.

3. It's funny you should bring that up
Because I just posted my answer on another thread. I think Sheila Kuhl would be perfect for the job.

6. Maxine Waters would be good
I don't know if she has any 'draw' up north, but she had moxie during the 2000 election debacle in wanting the recall.

Has anyone started expressing interest in challenging Feinstein yet, in light of her confirmation vote?

8. Lady Di has to go
State Democrats have been pretty much blackmailing voters for twenty years now, and it has been working. That is why Feinstein has been re-elected. Things have changed now.

The California State Democratic Party is in serious, major trouble. We lost a bad Governor, but worse -- State Demo Leaders made *no adjustment* to what they were doing, to ensure that the Gropenator couldn't do it again. And now he's going to do it again.

We have to do something, and risking a Republican Senator is plenty good enough. Lady Di not only voted for Condie Rice; she INTRODUCED her to the Senate. She voted for Bush's tax reforms, for his idiotic Medicare drug bill givaway, for the Patriot act, and pretty much for anything Bush and his buddies wanted. Losing her would be no problem, and the Senate Democrats wouldn't be any worse off for it. I say Lady Di goes, and as soon as possible.

This doesn't mean that I'm a Berkeley Radical. In fact, I'm moderate on most issues. I just see Feinstein as worse than dead weight to the State Party -- which still BADLY NEEDS TO BE REFORMED.

12. I could go for that
...but we might see the Return Of The Poizner - or Tom Campbell.

What I really don't like about Poizner is that he is very secretive about his past---
Born in TEXAS
Grew up in TEXAS
Graduated from UT-Austin.

I'd be ashamed too.

13. This has been my favored solution too...

That way no contentious primary fights in 2006, Dianne Feinstein probably gets more of a position that she might want as she gets older (to live and have power in California), and we take Arnie out of the picture, and hopefully she'll make sure that McPherson doesn't f' up our voting machines in 2008.

I'd much rather have someone else to take the reins of challenging the Rethugs in the Senate than Difi. Perhaps Pelosi? Not sure who would be best for that though. In any case, you'd need someone to challenge her in the primaries if you take the bloody primary approach as well. In this case, that person doesn't get bloodied by that battle and can focus their efforts on a Republican challenger.

11. Let's Not Take On an Intra-Mural Battle --- Arnold Must Go!
This "Dump Diane" effort will just divide our efforts and money from the real battle ----- Arnold Must Go.

He has been an unmitigated disaster for health care, for education (pre-K to post-doc), for local governments.

As Father Ward says -- we have to get the BubbinGrabber out. Anything that detracts from that is a diversion and a luxury.

I think this Dump Diane thing is a "Keep Arnold/Send Tom Campbell to the Senate" or a "Keep Arnold/Send Steve Poizner to the Senate" campaign by the likes of Darrel Issa (there's a real one - Issa).

A bloody primary is engineered for my neighbor Steve Poizner.
