Wilwheaton.net clued me in on this one.

I wouldn't have known of him, I hear he was a California thing.

2. he was a gas
I used to watch him when I first moved to CA. seems he was ALWAYS on tv, and he'd go off on the funniest tangents.

3. I remeber him from the early days of cable television
Edited on Sat Feb-26-05 07:07 PM by Jack Rabbit
I didn't know what to make of him. I guess in the age of Swaggart, Bakker and Falwell, he just seemed like another TV preacher with a scam.

There was something oddly amusing about Scott. One go around the channels and I would catch him ranting about sin; another and he's asking for money; yet another and he was taking a nap with the camera trained on him.

He was a piece of work.

4. I remember him too. Playing his sax. Cracking up his off camera crew...
Actaully, he could be pretty funny, personable back then. Hard a hard time watching him recently. He sure didn't age well.

But if you rae into whacky CA cable.... ever check out local kickboxing from Santa Ana? It is so amatuerish, from the announcers to the fighters. It comes in on local Cable channels in hollywood. Hilarious. Refs don't stop fights when someone gets their asses kicked.

Also, the local news from the IE (Inland Empire) based network. Screw ups, totally amautuer and hysterical.

5. Wow--I can hardly believe he's dead...I didn't think evil died.

Forgive me for speaking ill of the dead, but I thought this guy was absolute evil personified...

Interesting that the article didn't speak of the politician's and media moguls that he had in his pocket--that kind of helped get the fraud charges dismissed.
