I have seen the amazing bushkin head many times.I will make a DU sweatshirt this time,tryed to for the fed building rally but the paint was still wet......I hope it's a giant turn out

I was at the J20 protest in SF, which was on a weeknight. This, being on a weekend, should have a larger draw.

of us from Orange County - I have seen the puppet head also - who knew it was a DUer hiding in there? I have many pictures of U.

Is there a meeting place yet? If I find U, I'll help pull (note from earlier thread)

A quick walk through the crowd and you should find us under the Bush Puppet. We're going to try to get near the front this time.

We can use the help pulling (light duty as we got a new wagon with inflated tires for the puppet) and two people to hold the "hands."

Any tips for those first time protesters? Our tips:

DU sign, stickers or graphics
Hats and sun lotion
Water and snacks
Camera (great street theater)
Protest signs

Check out where you're parking on the parade route in relation to the start and the finish.

BTW there will probably be some street vendors selling grilled food along the way. Plenty of shops too.

I may take my daughters up too. We were having a conversation last week about fascism, war, this administration, the media, etc (they are studying Germany and Italy in school, pre WWII) and one said:

"If you know all this about our government why aren't you doing anything?"

Good question that should be asked of everyone.

Even though I volunteered during the election and do some writing, it isn't nearly enough, given my views on the state of things. So we may see you up there!

Costa Mesa bus: We are exploring the idea of renting a bus for Orange County peace activists and antiwar folk to attend the March 19th Hollywood antiwar protests- If enough are interested then we will do it. The costs would be $20.00 donation round trip to Hollywood. We would leave from the corner of Bristol & Anton, (South Coast Plaza Parking Lot) Costa Mesa at 9:30 AM and return in the late afternoon- Those interested please contact Chuck at 714 956-5037 and make a pledge and count how many are interested to take the bus with us.

Rain? No worries. Plastic sheet for the Bush Puppet and signs. Military surplus ponchos and umbrellas for us.

Beats the hell out of snow and freezing temperatures our comrades are enduring elsewhere.

My husband just had surgery but says it won't miss it for the world. So we'll both be there... only one of us moves a bit slower than the other!
