"Air America struggles elsewhere, but not on KKZN"
http://www.denverpost.com/Stories/0,1413,36~120~2845078,00.html

That's not the case in Denver. The Arbitron winter ratings show KKZN 760-AM, which took on Air America last September, with the same 1.6 share it had in the previous ratings period.

Among the highly valued (to advertisers) 25-54 age group, Bell said, the station's midday combination of Al Franken and Ed Schultz logged a 2.5 share, up from 2.2 in the fall. To compare, the Mike Rosen/Rush Limbaugh combo at the same time on KOA 850-AM logs an impressive 6.9.

1. I'm curious...
does KKZN advertise at all? I think if more people knew where to find AAR, they'd get MUCH higher ratings

2. I don't know
I don't live out there, but I hear that WLIB seems to be the only station that's gotten any serious advertising.

3. I would listen to that station IF
they actually aired the AAR lineup live and unmodified. They've hacked the programming to the point where it's not actually AAR.

4. Most Times, I Can't Pick It Up In Pueblo
And when it's cloudy, I have trouble getting it in Colorado Springs, too.

5. so...
because they air a few programs not distributed by AAR that means you won't listen to the station at all?? AAR's not the only game in town anymore.

6. I listen on satellite precisely because they carry the whole AAR lineup
But since Sirius and AAR are in fallout mode, I guess I'll have to start listening to tape delayed radio soon. News happens so quickly these days (thanks to the Internets), that even a three hour delay is too much.

7. Yeah, but our lineup is all effed up.
We don't get much of Majority report at all because they tape delay it, and only play 1 hour (11-mid, M-F, Mountain). They do play some of it, in the wee hours of the morning, so it's never, ever live, and never when I can listen to it. Instead, we get the paranoid ramblings of crypto-fascist Phil Hendrie, who should be taken off his feeding tube - he's been long brain dead. Ed Schultz is okay but not great and just as annoying and bombastic as Rush. Randi Rhodes gets pre-empted for some local basketball game at least once a week. Jay Marvin in the mornings is just not my cuppa. Morning Sedition used to be drive time for me, but now it's live, and I'm just not UP at 4 am.

The schedule is all fucked up, and it's just not worth listening to. However, I promise you, if I ever get picked for Arbitron again (I've been an Arbitron listener a couple times) My habits will change. (Currently, I just don't listen at all.)

Wish the Sirius stuff had worked out....

8. Why all the 760 bashing?
I'm just thrilled to have anything on the air to listen other than the right wing horseshit.

I think I saw a TV ad with Jay Marvin on it... cross promtion kind of thing. But it is still getting 760's name on the TV...
