About 250 of us gathered at the Pavillion in Cheesman Park. The McMahons who organized the vigil (wife is a peace activist and husband was a pilot in Vietnam) both spoke for a few minutes about Cindy and the costs of war. Then we lit candles and stood for about 30 minutes or so, silently thinking about Cindy and the war.
The evening was beautiful. The pavilion faces the mountains and the sun was setting just about 8 pm. The sky was blue and gold, and a nice breeze was blowing. It couldn't have been more gorgeous.
My family was proud to stand in support of Cindy. I hope that we are at a tipping point in this war.
