4 Senate hopefuls show tax returns

The four Colorado candidates running for the U.S. Senate released their income-tax returns on Monday - and Republican hopeful Pete Coors commanded the top salary and paid the most taxes.

In 2002, the brewery executive and his wife reported gross income of $3.2 million. They took $595,056 in deductions to drop their taxable income to $2.6 million.

The couple's total tax was $973,894, but they had payments totaling $1.1 million throughout the year. They received a $162,480 refund that they requested be applied to their 2003 taxes.

Coors and his wife, Marilyn, whose occupation is listed as homemaker, have not filed their 2003 tax return, said spokeswoman Cinamon Watson.

I could live on the Coors' refund for about 6 years! LOL

Was there something that prompted them to release the info? I'm not in Colorado, so if there's big local talk about it, I don't know about it, sorry.

...Pete Coors is gonna lose the nomination. Too many GOP'ers will consider him "less of a RepubliKKKan" than ultra-conservative Bob Schaffer.
