Coors, Salazar beef up TV, online campaigns
Two U.S. Senate candidates intensified their media campaigns this week: Brewery executive Pete Coors launched a $400,000 television blitz, and state Attorney General Ken Salazar revamped his website.

Coors - running for the Republican nomination against former Congressman Bob Schaffer - bought $400,000 worth of TV ads in the Denver, Colorado Springs and Grand Junction markets.

"It's what we've got to do to get the message out there to make sure all the voters know what I stand for," said Coors, who is making his first run for elected office.

To pay for the ads, Coors is relying on donations, not his own personal fortune.
