Ken Salazar join brother, votes FOR torture!
And to think I worked to help elect that guy after he beat Miles. Never again. I have lost any and all respect for this man.

1. You and Me Both, Never Again

can't stand him or his brother now that we've gotten to know them better. I was a Miles delegate, and remember at the Denver convention, Salazar had to address the crowd and swear he wouldn't flip to GOP like Nightmare Campbell did. He might as well!

2. I dont think I could ever in good conscious vote for either one ever again
I know its important that we get the house and/or senate, by taking and keeping seats. But these votes are just sickening, they give away whatever little morality this country had left and they just dont care! All in the name of politics cause they think they'll be painted as weak on national security if they take a stand.

Im tired of Democrats voting like Republicans, so very tired.

6. I've been thinking exactly the same thing.
Ken Salazar is our local Senator as well, along with Allard - what a great choice that is. Both my partner and I voted for him and give him as much support as we could before the election. I knew Salazar was a moderate dem, but i thought he was leveled headed with a conscious and cared about what we do.

However, after watching his voting record so far, with a few exceptions, he has given bush and the repugs everything they wanted. I am so disappointed. Then the biggest slap in the face of all was to find out that he voted in favor of the Military Commissions Act - I was stunned and still am. I'm so angry at him. I will never vote for him again. I know that means not giving my support to a dem, but as far as I'm concerned voting for Salazar was worse then not voting at all because I helped put a repug in office in democratic clothing which really angers me.

I've also been routinely sending him petitions on issues and direct letters. He (more likely his staff) does respond each time with an email. However, I doubt he even reads what I'm sending. But I do it anyway to make someone in that office hears what I have to say as a constituent. I've been trying to write him regarding the Military Act, but I'm so angry right now, I can't finish it without tearing him apart. So I'm trying ot put it aside for a few days to calm down and then insist that he do everything in his power to repeal this law. I'll do the same with Allard, but I know that's a joke. And I'll give Salazar one more chance to realize what he has done through this law and to try and make changes.....which he probably won't...at that point, I'll call him on it.

3. I never wanted Salazar in the first place
I saw through his transparency and stuck with Miles the entire time.

Now I had to hold my nose and vote for him over Coors.

4. as I have told ken on many occasions, if we had WANTED a
conservative catholic republican in office, we could have voted for pete coors, and gotten the same results we have with him.

I also told him that it doesn't matter who is running against him when his term is up, that is the person for whom we will be working.

I also called his regional manager, whom I do know slightly, and for whom I used to have a great deal of respect, to ask him how he liked working for a traiterous sell-out.

funny, have not heard from either of them.

5. I have written & do not hear from Ken either.
He did take me off his mailing list for contributions, though. Guess he could tell from the tone of my letters that I wasn't going to be sending any money his way.

7. I will never support or vote for Ken Salazar again.
I was a very strong Miles supporter (got raked over the coals for it here at DU too), but I got completely behind Salazar after he won the primary. I heard alot about how we had to pull together behind the primary winner-evidently Salazar doesn't feel that's the case for the people of Connecticut. Since Salazar evidently has nothing against support for 3rd party candidates running against Democratic nominees, he shouldn't mind when I support whichever 3rd party progressive is running against him in the next election.

Glad I got that off my chest. :)

8. I actually hope that Ken changes parties.
Then we could get a real Progressive Democrat to run against him. We had no choice in 2004. Miles wasn't going to beat Coors by any stretch of the imagination. I actually liked Salazar more than Miles. But he really upset me right after he got into office and continues to piss me off today. Ben Crazyhorse Campbell II.
