my damned DINO senator is WAITING-- WAITING-- I am so angry right now!!
(cross-posted from GD-politics)

I just got off the phone with Ken Salazar's assistant in the local office. I had called, as politely as I could, to find out exactly WHAT actions, if any, Salazar has taken in the matter of Building 18.

the very nice young man called me back, and told me that he is WAITING-- for what, I don't know. something about a speech from gen. cody (whoever the hell he is!!) and that action could come within the next few hours. I told him that this has been in the news for 4 days. but, ken is WAITING.

I am shaking with rage and anger right now, had to hang up on the young man before I started screaming. I informed him that I am letting every single committee and group in my contacts know that ken is WAITING.

I have told him repeatedly that if we wanted a damned conservative, catholic conservative republican in office, we could have voted for pete coors, from whom, I am sure, we would be now getting the same reaction.

If anybody here in Colorado has any helpful ideas, please let me know. Right now, I want to throw things, or scream (but the people in the other offices might get upset) or make little poppets, or something.

Ken Salazar is WAITING.

1. I think you need to get more information on what Salazar is doing
Four days isn't a long time in government, no matter how pressing the issue may be. Even the lighting-quick Schiavo bill didn't happen for several days after the story broke. I have every confidence that this matter will be resolved soon, but we have to keep in mind that Washington D.C. moves exceedingly slowly.

2. sorry, I don't buy that--senators murray and mikulski managed to get a bill out right away demanding
an investigation. the least our worthless DINO could have done was to sign onto that bill, or made a statement of outrage or SOMETHING.

other than the fact that he has a "d" after his name, I haven't seen him do much of anything good. I was absolutely furious with him for voting for the torture bill, and told him so then.

if you have anything positive you can show me he has done, I would appreciate it. right now, I cannot think of anything.

3. One thing I can think of off the top of my head
is that he sponsored the "Peace and Accountability in Darfur Act" which isn't being acted upon by the White House. Other than that he has been assertive on water and agricultural issues, although those don't make headlines. As far as co-sponsoring, most bills only have one sponsor and two co-sponsors. Times when Senators swarm onto bills as co-sponsors are rare.
