2. thanks!
We've been looking closely at this in Virginia and of course, with the chickens coming home to roost on the SOL crap, our kids are getting screwed.

3. A twisted irony
My (mostly republican) neighbors voted FOR a property tax increase this year to cover the local school district budget shortage. They have no problem paying additional taxes to help THEIR children, but fuck everyone else.....

4. Don't get me started on the school funding debate
It's awful here in Fairfax County, the battles going on. Too much of a mess to go into, but I don't know why so many are hostile to paying for a good school system. We all benefit from having educated children in our community, and yet, it is a constant battle with the No Tax nutcases running around here.

5. But, that's the irony. At least here.
The No Tax nutcases voted FOR a tax increase. These same asshole repukes will vote for the "no tax increase" Coors and bush*.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having such a tough battle. But, that's how the "bush* tax cuts" work. They force the local/county areas to bear the burden.
