Good Reason A Primary Looms For Lieberman
My LTTE in The Day:
http://www.theday.com/re.aspx?re=9d5d1efd-a128-41e7-b1cf-556f5f34bec6

Paul Krugman, my favorite columnist since 2001, when he was one of the few lonely voices telling the truth about the Bush administration, deserves a Thomas Paine award for his brilliant and bold columns against the tyranny prone Bush administration.

As immoral as the Iraq war and occupation are, Mr. Krugman, in his column entitled “Lieberman left behind?,” published May 24, correctly analyzes why Sen. Lieberman is facing a spirited primary battle this year:

• Our senator willingly provides cover for the Bush administration, who is destroying our democracy.

• He won't fight for Democratic causes he claims to support.

For example, during the presentation of the National Organization for Women's political action committee's endorsement of Ned Lamont on May 16, Melody Drnach, NOW'S vice president of action, said, “Sen. Lieberman is one of seven Democrats who have promised not to filibuster any of President Bush's judicial nominees, except under 'extraordinary circumstances.' . . . If packing the Supreme Court with abortion opponents like . . . Samuel Alito is not an extraordinary circumstance, then we don't know what is.” (For information, log onto www.now.org/press/05-06/05-16.html)

We desperately need a senator who will fight for our constitutional rights, not senators like Sen. Lieberman, who acquiesces to the Bush administration's quest for absolute power. That is why individuals and groups, such as the National Organization for Women and Connecticut women's rights leaders are enthusiastically supporting Ned Lamont for U.S. Senate. 1. Great post, Larkspur!
You are right. So many people don't tell the truth about Lieberman, especially on the rape victim issue.

I like your LTTE of "The Day." I should do a LTTE to the Register. Not enough coverage for Ned in the MSM.

Thanks!:hi:

2. Liberman LOL
Liberman is so phony as well as disgusting to listen to. Liberman either takes bribes from Bush or is a Republican in disguise. Libermn is a disgrace to CT, Democratic party, and everything the Democrats stand for.:(
