30,000 independents have switched to Dems in CT
Our Secretary of State was on WTIC and said upwards of 30,000 independent voters have switched affiliation since May. That number does not include those who switched today. No one really knows what this means for the race. About 4,000 repukes switched by the deadline last May. She also said that LIEberman would be able to submit his petition to run as an indy even if the results had to be held until the military votes were all accounted for on August 23 (I believe it was the 23rd).

I know of 4 indies that changed their affiliation - and they are all voting for Ned. I hope that is the trend.

1. Well, more Independents are against the war
than for it, so I am hopeful that most of them will be out to vote for Lamont. I could be wrong but I just can't see such a swell of passion for keeping Lieberman that would drive so many people to register for this purpose.

2. Hey! I thought I heard that they were only going to hold the results
until the military votes were in.........if the margin of defeat was 7% or less???? Has this been changed?

3. Those Repug switchers scare me
If the Repugs succeed in helping Lieberman, they could effectively have one-party rule with trojan horse DINOs representing all the blue states.

4. Party switchers
I can personally vouch for this trend...

I went Monday about 11:15 to change name on my voter registration for the primary, and in Newtown the Registrar of Voters Office was busy. There were three people there busy working on registrations, and two residents in the process of switching parties. I spoke to the Registrar myself, and she informed me that the office was quite busy and they were unsure how they were going to get it all done by noon. She said there had been a LOT of party switches for this primary, over a hundred...

Considering that my town leans Republican...I don't know whether they were Jumpers for Joe or not. I can say that I have seen few Lieberman signs in this town, and those seen were mostly on sides of roads and islands...not private property. More Lamont signs seen here than Lieberman and those mainly on private properties.
