? on Biden
How is he perceived in your state? Ive always liked him and he is currently my first choice for president. I just wanted to get some perspective on him from the people who he represents. Thanks.

1. Big Mouth, Attention Whore, Not As Smart As He Thinks He Is

Personally obnoxious as hell, especially around women.

Smarmy. Large Ego.

Other than that, he's a good Senator and has my support in the primaries until he flames out, which is inevitable.

DU'ers at large will not forgive him on the bankruptcy bill vote. Credit card banks are, collectively, the largest employers in Delaware. That vote was a simple "representing his constituency" vote - no more, no less. It's like asking a senator from Maine to ban lobster.

But, look, when my pipes break, I call a plumber. Do I care if the plumber is a jackass, or do I care if he fixes the pipes? It's not some sort of secret that a lot of people in Delaware believe Joe Biden to be a jackass, and it is also no secret that he has tremendous approval of the job he does in the Senate.

2. I had Rick Santorum as my senator for eight years
Joe Biden was a major gigantic step upwards but he's not my first choice for president. I still don't know who I am supporting

3. As a Native Delawarean -
I've seen Joe's entire career here. It's my opinion that his long-term career in politics plus the ever increasing corporate corruption of the DLC have played their predictable part in helping him become one of the typically "me first" politicians so prevalent in D.C. now.

That's not to say he doesn't have some good ideas and worthy foreign relations experience. There are many times he speaks exactly what his Democratic constituents want to hear. There are also, however, many times his actual votes disappoint.

What bothers me lately is the beginning of a Biden dynasty here in Delaware. His son was just voted in as our attorney general over someone with much more experience and it's hard to argue it wasn't mostly because of his name and Dad's power here. There are also the son-got-a-cushy-high-paying-job-with-little-attendence-required-with-one-of-our-largest-employers-and-his-largest-political-contributors situation (sounds a lot like typical Mafia activity, doesn't it).

So, sorry, I'm a big fan of term limits and campaign finance to prevent this continued and now typical corruption of OUR government representatives. And I'd really rather see some new faces start breaking up these ever-living incumbents. Joe is now a typical long-serving politician with all the corporate debts and aisle-crossing deals that implies.

AND - He's currently at 4th place for missed votes in congress - how would you feel about an employee that only reported for work 3/4's of the time?
