Delaware for Obama Campaign Kick-Off Saturday, September 13th at 9:00 am
Obama for America is Kicking Off our Campaign!
Saturday, September 13th at 9:00 am
Delaware Headquarters
Riverfront Shipyard Center (the Old Nautica Store)
1000 Justison St. Wilmington, DE 19801

Hello Fellow Delawareans,

First of all, let me thank all of you that were able to stop by the office for our Pre-Grand Opening last Sunday. The excitement generated has continued as we have signed up over 500 new volunteers this week alone and we are now up and running with our phone bank with volunteers stopping by each night to make calls! Now it is time to take it to a new level as we kick off our campaign this Saturday, September 13th at 9am and officially open our office to the public! Please come pitch in to do what you can to help!

Drive for Change:
Our most important task from now until November will be to help our sister state Pennsylvania. As such, we are organizing carpools up to PA each Saturday and Sunday from now until November. Carpools will be organizing in both Newark (for Chester County) and Wilmington (for Delaware County) . The time will be spent going go door to door in key neighborhoods to reach crucial voters and spread the Obama message of bringing real change to Washington. If you are interested in helping with this crucial task, please email to driveforchange@obamavolunteer.com and let us know which location you prefer and we will contact you with details.

Phone Banking:
Those that can’t canvass, can call! We need help making calls to PA voters and we now have phone lines set up at our Riverfront office so please sign up for a shift at phonebank@obamavolunteer.com. We will be making calls all day Saturday and Sunday and each weeknight from 6pm-9pm. In case the phone lines fill up, it may be necessary to use personal cell phones so if you can, please bring your cell phone and charger when you come to phone bank.

Data Entry:
We need volunteers to enter data! It is crucial to get all information into the system as soon as possible and right now that data is piling up. This campaign has been so successful because of their commitment to new technology and we want to make sure that continues here in Delaware. We are still waiting for our computers to be delivered so in the meantime we are asking those that can to please bring in their laptops and chargers to help with this task.

As for Obama gear, we have been pressing the Chicago office for highly popular Obama/Biden Lawn signs and other items. Unfortunately they cannot guarantee any merchandise before this Saturday although we hope to get some soon. Please be patient with us and understand that lawn signs are being assigned to key battlegrounds states first. We now have just 55 days until November 4th and we must now kick this campaign into high gear and each day work harder than we did the day before.

Thank you for all that you do! Yes We Can!
Marla Blunt-Carter
Delaware State Director / Obama for America

1. My wife and I were there this morning running a Babies for Obama/Biden lemonade stand
A nice steady flow of people all morning until we left at 1:30ish. Our baby boy wasn't going to make it much longer out there, so we had to get him home...but we still managed to raise some decent money for the campaign and got to meet a ton of incredibly nice people. Considering how out of the way the headquarters is, I thought the turnout was awesome.

So many great people are in and out of there all day, if anyone in the area gets a chance, DEFINITELY come check it out!

2. Another Great Reason To Go....

Is that the Polish festival is running through the 20th at the Riverfront.

I dropped off more office supplies yesterday afternoon, and it was hot as blazes inside the headquarters.

SPARE FANS AND EXTENSION CORDS/POWER STRIPS would be good items.
