Hey, my fellow Floridians! My brother was ruined in Hurricane K, moved to
Florida and wants to know what is up with the DNC rules and why did the Dems vote to have the early primary and self-disenfranchise. I have sort of ignored it because I knew I couldn't do anything about it and you all said it was all the republics fault, so I know nothing. Today he wanted to know all the details, and I told him it was the republics' fault. He was not satisfied. Does anyone have a link to the timeline, who, what when, and where?

1. Unfortunately,
it was not all the fault of the Republicans. The Democrats in the House and Senate (both State and Federal) thought it would be a dandy idea. The Democratic leadership in Florida is corrupt and very much DINO's (Democrats in Name Only). The best thing I can tell you is to read all of madfloridians journal. She has outlined the timeline and the responsible parties very well.

I wish it had only been the Republicans. But, it wasn't.

2. Thanks a lot. My brother is so "down" that he is not keeping up with things.
His computer was drowned, along with everything else and contractors screwing him on building a house in an unfamiliar area. He is curious.

3. The future will reveal the wisdom
In future presidential primary years, this will be good for Florida.
Florida is a very unique state. We have a large population of residents from every other state as well as a large population of African Americans and Hispanics. Florida has a cross section of people from all ethnic groups, religions, westerners, midwesterners, and people from the northeast and New England. It is truly a "bellweather" state.
With an early primary, good weather in Florida, millions of people from the media will come to Florida to hear the candidates make their pitch. It will be great for the economy and fun for the residents.
I look forward to the hoopla

4. Why should it all be for the good of Florida?
That mindset is exactly what brought us (the country) to this current predicament.

A transplant, unfortunately, and not by choice. Will leave as soon as it is possible.

5. I Live in Florida
I live in Florida....all year long. I plan on staying here.
Do you?
If you are a Florida resident don't you want what's good for Florida?

The candidates and media will bring money into our economy.

7. It's difficult to play hockey in Florida
Unfortunately, the retention ponds don't freeze over in Florida's winter so your children can play hockey.
I wonder why you identify yourself as a "hockeymom?" Do you play? Or do you just pay for the ice time and equipment and drive back and forth to the rink?
I can see why you want to leave Florida. Your identity doesn't match what Florida has to offer.

Goodbye

8. My daughter played
I just kept the nic. She went to college in Maine and Cortland, NY, to play, and graduated last June. She is a teacher in NYC now and plays hockey on a women's team.

I am a 4 seasons person and hate temps over 70. Other than my husband getting a job here, Florida holds no appeal to me.

Whatever.
