Police say Deltona man chased naked teen from daughter's room with pipe

I don't condone it, but as a father of a 14 year old daughter, I understand it.

DELTONA, Fla. - An angry Deltona father whacked his teenage daughter's boyfriend with a metal pipe after finding the boy naked in his daughter's room.

Authorities say Raul Colon, 45, didn't even know his daughter had a boyfriend or that the youngster had been sneaking into the home for more than a year.

When he heard noises coming from his daughter's bedroom Thursday morning and saw a stranger standing naked on the girl's bed, he swung a metal pipe. He then chased the teen out the front door and called police.

The boy was taken to the hospital where doctors closed a head wound with staples.

Colon was charged with aggravated battery on a child and bonded out on $10,000.

They put the sperm donor/babydaddy on stage at their national convention and make him into a hero.

Many parts of the country he would have gotten a butt full of either birdshot or rock salt. A few staples and a scar, perhaps he'll do his thinking with his large head instead of his small one next time.

But that would certainly weigh into whether you were able to beat the hell out of him with a pipe. You can only do that if you fear for her safety.

I would also whack him a few good ones while running him out of the house, if he had no idea his daugther had a boyfriend at all (that is a totally different discussion she is going to have to have with him) than how could he possibly be expected to think that some stranger naked in his daughters' room (14 is young for that, too) belongs there?

I don't think he should be charged at all, the boy got away with some stitches, ouch, sucks for him, but maybe in the future he will go over and introduce himself to his girlfriends' parents sometime before their one year anniversary. Learning experience.

How did he know that the naked person wasn't a rapist. You don't engage in conversation at a time like that. He's lucky he didn't get shot.

If my dad saw a naked guy standing in my room as a kid, he'd have gotten the shotgun out. No way in heck they should've charged him. That's trespassing--the daughter's not the property owner, so she couldn't have given permission all by herself.

Don't do anything to my daughter that you wouldn't want me doing to you.

I like that. We are expecting (we find out what on monday, I'm rooting for kitten or puppy! I think Maranda wants a girl though) and if it is a girl, I think that will have to be a part of any introduction.

His instruction was to use the first one to call HIM if I EVER felt like mistreating his daughter, and the other to call my parents and wish them happy lives if I DID mistreat her. He wasn't happy until I put them both in my wallet. I had them for years, long after I stopped seeing her. I actually transferred them from wallet to wallet until one day my wallet got stolen from a locker at a GM assembly plant.

Nowadays the same thing would require a pre-paid phone card.

Do you really think his daughter was utterly silent the whole time? I have no doubt that there was some variety of, "Daddy NO! Stop it, don't hurt him, Daddy!!" going on. If he had actually thought it was a rapist, he wouldn't have been charged. Obviously the police know something that we don't, and my guess is that there was some kind of verbal altercation before he hit the kid that clearly established the fact that the kid wasn't there with the intention of hurting or raping his daughter. In fact, the boy was there legally--he was invited in by a member of the household.

I think the father deserves exactly what he gets. He could have killed the boy, and all because he's one of those freakish fathers who thinks he owns his daughter's hymen--fucking creepy.

For the record, BOTH of the teenagers were FIFTEEN. They were exactly the same age, so please drop the statutory rape crap. That usually applies when one party is more then 4 years older than the other party. Since they're the same age, one has to wonder, who raped who? Are both of them rapists? Shall we ship them off to jail and put them on the sex offender registry for daring to have sex? Jesus.

Go directly to jail, psycho Dad. I am incredibly grateful that my own Dad was a rational, non-barbaric type. He might have beaten my ass if he'd have caught a naked boy in my room, but he would never have tried to seriously hurt either me or said naked boy. I cannot believe that people defend this bullshit, caveman behavior.

I'll bet his daughter's not going to be living in his house much longer now that she knows her dad's a big 'ol fearful weenie.

Somehow I doubt it would've taken most fathers of teenagers more than a split second to size up the situation. The boyfriend actually got off easy getting smacked in the head with a metal pipe. In my family, the poor kids would have had to endure a thoroughly embarrassing lecture about birth control and STD's, and it's unlikely the incident would have escaped the notice of various alert younger cousins and siblings either.

There's nothing quite like having a bratty eight year old cousin, at the worst possible moment, bursting out giggling and pointing and dancing about, "Hah hah, you guys were NAKED! You guys were NAKED!"
