Rubio is totally unacceptable, he is a dangerous prick, would be a total disaster...

Would Florida Democrats support Charlie Crist with D in front of his name?

3. When's Your Primary?
Our Texas state primary is on Tuesday March 2nd. I think we'll have a slate of candidates to fight the good fight, although our state Democratic Party really hasn't come back to where it was in the late 1980's. When is yours?

I should think that Florida should have a state Democratic Party in much better shape than ours. I hope you have time to find and run a good candidate against the likes of Rubio.

4. The Democratic candidate will be Rep. Kendrick Meek.
There's a primary, but the opposition is slight. As for Meek's chances, I think Crist would beat him. And Meek isn't well known outside of South Florida, so if Rubio beats Crist, that win will give him the sort of exposure that will make him tough to beat, regardless of the fact that he's just barely to the left of Genghis Khan.

5. I Know the Feeling, But We Have to Try
I know the feeling of having to try to whup a well-known, better-funded candidate from the Elephant Party. We Texas Democrats have been in such a pickle since Lloyd Bentsen left the Senate.

But we have to try, regardless.

I hope your electorate is saner than ours.

6. Well ... saner is perhaps debatable.
This is Florida after all. :)

I think Meek may have a better shot than a Texas Dem. would, simply because this state is quintessentially a purple state (see: 2000 Presidential election). But, come talk to me again in 2020 or so -- by then, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how well you're doing in Texas.

2. I think it's Crist's only chance of staying in politics--the FL GOP has gone crazy
Crist would be a moderate Democrat, and any Democrat is better than a nut like Rubio, in my opinion...
