Incumbents have a golden ticket to re-election. (blog about Fair Districts Amendments)
SNIP

One reason incumbent state lawmakers fear losing control of the redistricting process: Today's district boundaries work so well for them.

No wonder Florida legislators pushed a constitutional amendment onto the November ballot that could counteract two other amendments meant to reform redistricting.

A study of past elections by Fair Districts Florida revealed that only three incumbents in 420 elections in the past six years lost a re-election bid, including State. Rep. Tony Sasso, a Cocoa Beach Democrat, who lost in 2008 to Republican Steve Crisafulli of Merritt Island. Crisafulli was re-elected this year because he drew no primary opposition.

I'd like to invite you to join the Fair Districts Florida Facebook page to get the word out about Amendments 5, 6, and 7.

Vote YES on 5 and 6 to end gerrymandering and take the power to draw districts out of the hands of party bosses and political elites. Vote NO on 7 as it allows gerrymandering to continue.
