Stork puts campaign for Shaw seat on hiatus for medical tests

Democratic congressional candidate Jim Stork has put his challenge to U. S. Rep. Clay Shaw on hiatus for up to two weeks to get medical tests.

In an e-mail to campaign supporters today, Stork wrote that "I am currently undergoing some medical tests and will be in touch as soon as I know more. Right now, I am simply looking forward to putting these health issues behind me and moving forward."

Stork's staff said he was suffering from fatigue but emphasized that the gay former mayor of Wilton Manors was HIV negative.

Stork has raised approximately $1 million in an attempt to unseat Shaw, the Fort Lauderdale Republican whose House District 22 stretches from Fort Lauderdale to northern Palm Beach County.

Stork has no primary challenge for this congressional seat. I've been impressed with the job Stork has done so far.
