These 3 directors appear to be part of the DNC's strategy. I remember getting some info on it earlier.

Dems name new executive director
Florida Democratic Party chairman Karen Thurman announced that Leonard Joseph, the party political director and a Haitian-American, has been promoted to the job of executive director. Joseph's previous experience includes working as a regional political director for U.S. Sen. John Kerry and for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

"Leonard is a perfect fit for the Florida Democratic Party for 2007 and 2008. He knows Florida, and he is knowledgeable about presidential politics,'' said Thurman in a statement. The party announcement also included praise for Joseph from U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, who said Joseph brings "an extensive knowledge of Florida's political landscape."

The party also announced today that it was hiring additional regional staff: Julie Petrick, who worked for Ron Klein's successful campaign for Congress, was named South Florida Regional Coordinator; Shamika Baker, a former aide to Rep. Frank Peterman, was named Tampa Bay Regional Coordinator; Nate Jenkins was named Central Florida Regional Coordinator.

Thurman also named a new IT director who will manage the Democratic Party website: Phillip Perry. Perry has been a board member of the GLBT Democratic Caucus and 2005 Volunteer of the Year for the Broward County Democratic Executive Committee.

"Serving Central Florida as Regional Coordinator will be Nate Jenkins. Born and raised in Orlando, Jenkins graduated from Edgewater High School and earned a degree in Public Policy from Duke University. He was trained in political organizing by "Yes We Can" – an elite program for people of color run by U.S. Senator Barack Obama’s Hopefund Political Action Committee. Contact Nate via email at NJenkins@fladems.com or by cell phone at (407) 919-9722.

He was at the DEC meeting this month, but we did not get to go.
