(Florida) Teens ordered held without bond in Dunbar Village rape case

West Palm Beach - Three juvenile suspects accused of attacking and raping a woman and her 12-year-old son were ordered held without bond Thursday.

. . .

The 35-year-old mother told police that as many as 10 males beat, raped and sodomized her over a period of three hours the night of June 18 inside her row house in the Dunbar Village public-housing complex in West Palm Beach.

The woman also was sexually assaulted with a gun, a bottle and a bar of soap, according to the indictment.

The assailants beat her son, smashed a plate over his head and poured household chemicals in his eyes. They tried to force the boy to have intercourse with his mother and eventually succeeded in making the mother perform oral sex on her child.

In an apparent attempt to get rid of physical evidence, the mother was doused with chemicals. But fingerprints and a used condom were left behind, leading police to the three teens.

7. Not me
because you know what will happen to the little bastards in prison.

I just don't want them ever let out, not even after "it" wilts and withers and becomes useless.

12. Then you're not against the death penalty
what if the three already caught cut a deal to execute the first 7 people they name, and one of them doesn't have an alibi?

You can't be both against the death penalty and have exceptions.

But I do understand your feelings.

15. I should have said
I'm for the death penalty in few and rare cases. Is that more accurate?

17. Basically the same meaning
but it kinda puts a squeeze on the entire point of being anti-death penalty.

I should note, that I feel the same way.

22. It's a hard thing to get wrapped around.
The only real argument that makes sense to me is, like the presence of US troops in Iraq is creating the very disturbance they want to quell, the death penalty and its attendant "lock 'em up and throw away the key" sentencing which coarsens society, producing the evil that it's purported to stop.

It permeates society and fosters the "put a fence around them" and keep them away from me type of thinking. I don't know if the death penalty is a cause, a result, or a sign that measures society.

The sickening behavior of these delinquents argues for strong counter measures, for a ton of reasons, but what?

6. The Accused
If you read the full story, it's hard to not feel any sympathy for the alleged perps. Very fucked up backgrounds; they're kids and they've probably never seen what a decent family life looks like.

We read of stories like this every day. Rural, inner city, it happens every where.

There's no motive listed; I'm assuming it's some sort of gang activity. Dog people.

9. Not any pity for them
I came from a very fucked-up background. Have never tortured people or animals. I'm kinder because of my background.

16. I have no sympathy for them
But I think that if we don't get to the root issue of WHY this happened, it will happen again. That is why I don't agree with the death penalty.

The thing that shocked me the most was the accusation that the assailants attempted to have a 12 year old boy have sex with his mom? What kind of mindset is that??

Also, this should be national news (actually, it shouldn't, but that's a whole other story). A white blonde girl goes missing in Aruba and it's all over CNN, etc. But a lady and her son in public housing are brutally attacked - where's the outrage, where's the news?

Also, people should know the West Palm Beach is very different from Palm Beach - where all the rich people live. West of the Intracoastal is not a pretty place.

21. The news and rage was mostly last month, when it happened.
A girl's kidnapped, it's an ongoing news story. "Today Ms. Smith is still kidnapped, and new clues are creeping out." But if it meets the demographic of most of the viewers then it's not just an ongoing new story, but an important news story on channels that need 24/7 sensationalist news.

A woman gets raped and the perps mostly caught, it's not an ongoing story. It breaks the surface of the news pond only when things happen. Today the NYT had a story because the deviant slugs were arraigned. BTW, the NYT story was intriguing: The residents demand that they be protected, but the police say almost nobody will answer the police's questions about this particular rape/attack.

19. Dumb Fucks
"Housing authority Executive Director Laurel Robinson said Wednesday she hopes panoramic surveillance cameras will be installed at Dunbar Village soon to help deter crime.

"Robinson, Chairwoman Starr and Housing Authority Board members met Wednesday for the first time since the attack to discuss what could be done to bolster resident safety.

"If we don't get to the real root of what causes the heinous behavior," Starr said, "it will happen again, and it won't be nice."

Here's WHY YOU ASSHOLES!!!!
