Anyone here NOT thrilled to see whorebag Schrenko get thumped?
Schrenko style rubbed many the wrong way

Linda Schrenko never felt she got the respect she deserved for making history in 1994 when she persuaded voters to elect a maverick in a schoolmarm's disguise.

It was the year of that decade's GOP revolution, and the obscure teacher shocked longtime Democratic School Superintendent Werner Rogers, becoming the first woman to win statewide office in Georgia and the first Republican to run the state's education agency. She was a candidate with a simple message — "Let Teachers Teach" — and a chance to help remake a stale education system from the classroom up.

But Schrenko's political career crashed just eight years later, after a gubernatorial campaign federal investigators say was fueled by stolen money meant to provide computer services to deaf children. About $9,300 of the funding allegedly went to pay for her to have cosmetic surgery.

Now divorced and bankrupt, according to friends, Schrenko faces charges that could put her in federal prison for 30 years or more. She, Merle Temple, her close friend and deputy superintendent, and an Alpharetta businessman are accused of stealing more than $500,000 in federal school funds. Their lawyers say they stole nothing. But prosecutors call it "a rather blatant theft." Attempts to reach Schrenko, 54, for comment were unsuccessful.

1. I was appalled when she defeated Werner Rogers and things haven't

been the same in GA education ever since.

Wasn't she put there by the CHRISTIAN COALITION??

In other words, she was at least a MEMBER.

Now she's in the same shady club as her other fellow Georgian from the CC, Ralph Reed.

But she's in much bigger trouble!

Thank God there's still justice in the world, even in the "red" state of GA!

On edit: grammatical corrections

9. Still justice in Georgia?
For the moment, yes. Thanks goodness for the courts. Our last refuge in this R-controlled state.

She can't kick off soon enough to suit me. Thieving, nasty piece of work.

5. When publicly asked about it, I say that I hope justice will be done
But among friends, I say "YE-HAW!"

Just another lying hypocrite parasite on the belly of Georgia.

I can almost guarantee you, the same crowd wailing and screaming about Roy Moore's rock will show up at this "Good Christian's" trial.

On Wednesday, Rusty Paul, former chairman of the Georgia Republican Party, said he listened in disbelief to news reports of Schrenko's indictment.

...

"She had a lot of support from the Christian conservatives in the Republican Party, both in her gubernatorial run and in her tenure as school superintendent," he said.

A former teacher and principal whose only prior campaign was a losing race for school superintendent of Columbia County, Schrenko was first elected to head the $6 billion state Education Department in 1994, running a down-home campaign and with a 100 percent approval rating by the Christian Coalition. Once in office, she put personal friends on the DOE payroll, including her pastor and his wife.
Schrenko was popular with the fundies because she advocated teaching the Bible and creationism in Georgia's public schools.

8. "Mis-spending"
The news announcer on WSB Radio yesterday updated her turning herself in and said she was charged with "MIS-SPENDING". No such crime - she is charged with STEALING. There is no reason on earth for the news media to be so "kind" about what Schrenko did.
