Fort Benning: Solders' Pets Need Foster Homes & Adoptions
I received this today from one of my animal rescue Yahoo groups. I will also post it on the Pets Forum.

Fort Benning: Soldiers' Pets need Foster homes & Adoption

This email is sent on behalf of Military Mascots -

The Muscogee County Humane Society needs your help.

With 4,000 soldiers leaving Fort Benning, the shelter is expecting many residents to surrender their animals for deployment. You can help by fostering a pet for a soldier.

Some soldiers would like to have their pets back when they come home and some will need permanent homes. The shelter is already at maximum
capacity so the need for volunteers is great.

The animals are tested and up to date on their shots.

If you are interested in helping call 563-DOGS or go by the shelter on
Sacerdote Lane.

3. Before I add a pet to the menagerie I make sure of it
When I die my animals will have good homes, it's already set up.
I owe them that.

4. as it should be, of course.
sorry i jumped on ya! Course we dont know the whole story..but yeah, it does seem that, at the least, the single and no family to take the pets, soldiers..would have been better to not have or get a pet in that temporary situation..without first giving some consideration to what would happen to the pet..if they had to leave. So, given that..i am glad that there are those there to take on the task of finding them homes. I have three dogs and two cats..and live in a one bedroom house...ha..it is cozy..and i always have plans for someone to take my pets if something should happen to me, too.
