Facing the very real possibility of booting Saxby
With all the excitement of the presidential campaign, Senate races really seem to have fallen into the background. I'm pretty excited about the goings-on in Georgia--it's actually looking like we might be able to send Saxby packing this time around!

BUT our guy Martin still suffers from relative obscurity, and his fundraising is lagging way behind that of Chambliss. Please visit his site at http://www.martinforsenate.com and, if you like what you see, donate whatever you can.

1. Sweet, isn't it?
If you can afford to do it, now is the time to donate money to Jim Martin. Obama doesn't need the bucks now. Martin does, badly, and the money will go a lot farther in this race. A few donors can really make a big difference here.

2. He got a $100 from me yesterday.
Time to cough up whatever you can today.

I just saw SackofShit's latest commercial and as usual it was beyond the pale. He is a despicable bastard and I am ashamed that he is from MY state!

3. Real possibility of a runoff?
If the race is this close and with a Libertarian candidate getting a few percent, there is a good chance of a runoff.

If there is a runoff, it will get very interesting. As the AJC reported this morning, it could determine if the senate gets the 60th seat. Thus, we may see "President Elect" Obama (I'm knocking on wood) campaigning for him down here.

5. My thoughts on the Senate race.
Saxby might win a runoff because a lower turnout for a runoff would be Republican friendly. Does Jim Martin have enough cash for a runoff campaign? I hop so. Turnout will be key in a runoff. :(

6. If it makes it to a runoff, the national party will pour money into this state
Edited on Thu Oct-30-08 10:35 PM by RubyDuby in GA
President-elect Obama will come here. Vice President-elect Biden will come here. Every big name in the party you can think of will be here reminding people on a daily basis to get out and vote in a runoff. Hell, Bill Clinton has already been here for a fundraiser for Jim Martin last Saturday!

They want this seat. For political and personal reasons.

8. The whole party wants to avenge Max Cleland.
What Chambliss did to Cleland is unforgivable. We're almost certain to have a run-off, and I think Martin will win it.

Happy days! :toast:

The United States is a LIBERAL Country.
