Ga. father gets 100 years for poisoning kids' soup

JONESBORO, Ga. – A Georgia man was sentenced to 100 years in prison for poisoning his two children to extort money from Campbell Soup Co. William Cunningham was sentenced Thursday after a jury found him guilty of five counts of cruelty to children and two counts of aggravated assault, said Kellie Perry, a clerk at the Clayton County Superior Court.

The girl and boy, then 18 months old and 3 years old, were hospitalized after Cunningham fed them soup tainted with prescription drugs and lighter fluid.

2. At least DU's AdBot didn't try to sell us soup. Seriously, people, is this DU news?
The guy is sick and twisted, but how does it fit in here? Do we need to read this here?

Can't we come up with some standards for what kind of news should be on DU?

6. odd comment from you. for many, DU is home & they get most of their news from the GD & LBN forums
there's nothing wrong with this - now if it was in GD:Presidential - we have a problem. DU does make the videos have to have a civil rights/political/societal commentary aspect, but for LBN, it's whatever from all the years I can tell -

maybe you'd like a LBN-Politics and LBN-GD

9. Stories like these are relevant to many DUers.
People with psychological issues, psychopaths, sociopaths, mean and cruel lowlifes, crazed murderers, the sick & twisted, etc, are a worthy topic of interest in many ways: we can discuss psychology, sociology, the effects of poverty, the inherited cycle of child abuse, drug addiction, the need for low-cost mental health services, the consequences of drug abuse, and the blight on American culture, to name a few.
