Note to HCR supporters: Atlanta Anti Health Care Reform Rally
I am a health care reform supporter. I am also to co founder of http://www.healthcarereformmyths.org -- A site to debunk HCR lies. That is NOT why I am writing this post. I will be cross posting this in the GD: P , Georgia forum & the Health Forum. I also live in Va/Hi, in Atlanta.

Atlanta HCR advocates need help regarding an event that is happening Saturday. It seems as though this may have gone under the radar, and could be a potential fake town hall disaster for those that are fighting so hard for Health Care Reform. Centennial Park in Atlanta is hosting an ANTI Health Care Reform Rally. People like Dick Armey and Ralph Reed and Virginia Galloway will be attending.

The front page of today's AJC had an article titled "Health care debate moves to park , living room". It is not available online, but I can provide a copy of it to you if requested.

Organizers have tapped 20 national and local groups and expect to draw 15,000 people to the event at Atlanta Centennial Park. Remember a key media issue here: Centennial Park is across the street from CNN Headquarters.

I finally found thru the Centennial Park website, this information: It is a group that calls themselves Americas Town Hall: http://americastownhall.us .

It is a joint effort of a number of groups that are Anti Health Care Reform, that include:
Freedom Works
Tea Party Patriots
Americans for Prosperity
The National 9/12 Project
(there are many others, please click the link)

You can also see just one of the facebook groups for this rally here: HEALTHCARE rally on Saturday, Aug 15th at Centennial Park It says it is sponsored by Georgia Association of College Republicans. http://es-es.facebook.com/event.php?eid=252121190397 . However, if you check the Americas Town Hall you will see that the College Republicans are NOT the host. They are simply advocating this rally. (in a wretched way)

Americas Town Hall http://americastownhall.us/ are MANY of the people behind stopping ANY health care reform. It seems that no Health care reform advocacy groups know about this Anti health care rally. Please, can you assist in getting this information out there? It seems as though even local groups here in Atlanta do not know that this is happening regarding this massive rally. I know the time is short, so anything you can do to help would be appreciated.

Thanks for your time. All I ask is that you share this with like minded health care reform advocates. We have a short time to counter this. I have contacted local activist groups, and national ones as well. I am now posting it on DU in hopes that people can make this information available. Hopefully I will know more tomorrow regarding what -- & if any people plan to be there to try to counter this "rally" .

I refuse to shut them down verbally as they have tried to do to our Town Halls hosted by our Representatives, in their districts. That said, this is not a congressional district protest. I feel it is fair to show that we want to be represented. Remember -- someone paid for this park permit. The park is still public property.

Please share as needed, if there are any questions, I am not that hard to find.

Raine
