Georgia's farming, landscape industries raise concerns about immigration legislation
By Jeremy Redmon of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

A group of 270 farmers and other businessmen mostly representing Georgia’s agricultural and landscaping industries is warning lawmakers about the impact their immigration enforcement legislation could have on the state’s economy.

In a letter delivered to the lawmakers Monday, the group raised concerns that proposals to give police greater power to question suspected illegal immigrants and to require business to verify the immigration status of new employees could harm the state’s tourism and convention industry and make it more costly for them to do business.

Ok, it always comes back to this. You have those screaming about the burden of illegal immigrants on schools, hospitals, the legal system, etc. But when it comes down to business, the money people want to get around the laws. When will they figure out they can't have it both ways?

1. Maybe it's time the Publicans got on board with a common sense immigration policy
I don't pretend to have all the answers to this, but it sure seems like some of our supposedly intelligent lawmakers could tackle this issue once and for all and come up with a fair immigration policy.

2. fools are easily fooled
There is a despicable hater of a person called "D.A. King" (maybe that stands for "dumb ass") who gets a lot of press in this state about immigration "reform." To his credit, like may good republican extremists, he is extremely vocal in his outrageous views and this squeaky wheel unfortunately gets a lot of attention.

4. Time for these companies to play by the rules and pay their workers a living wage.
If they do pay a living wage, there will be plenty of people lined up to take those jobs.
