Jack Noble resigns,,,,,,,,,Yawn??
Not a word from anyone here about one of the biggest political stories in years from Idaho, the resignation of Kuna's state senator, Jack Noble? No questions or comments on ethics violations or conflicts of interest? Anybody?.....

1. Well, I'm just an Oregonian not too familiar w/Idaho politics,
Though I do enjoy going there to visit a friend in the Boise vicinity now and again. Right now I'm pretty distracted by Mt. St. Helens eruption this evening. If you're east of Yakima, you might want to watch for falling ash. Anyway, could you tell us a bit about what's going on w/Jack Noble? Welcome to DU, BTW.

2. Jack has resigned his seat in the Idaho Senate.
Noble introduced a bill to liberalize Idaho's liquor laws, without admitting a potential conflict of interest: that two stores owned by him and his wife may have benefited as a result. He later lied to the Ethics committee about it, and remained unrepentant until the committee voted for his censure. He resigned before the full Senate could vote on his fate today (3/9), which was probably for the best; by all appearances they were favoring full expulsion from the Senate.

3. Thanks for the info.
Sad that politicians engage in this type of chicanery. I especially hate the outright lying. What ever happened to the thing about public service being a public trust? Thing of the past, I guess.

At least Noble's fellow senators seemed willing to take care of the problem and hold him accountable. Good for Idaho!

4. re; Jack Noble
Let's not forget Noble was the guy who cast the deciding vote against Qwest deregulation last year. Is it any coincidence that Noble resigned after an ethics scandal and Qwest's latest legislative effort to be degregulated showed up again this session?

After all who gave Dan Popkey the lead that helped him break the story about Noble's convenience story fow paw in the Idaho Statesman?

Inquiring minds want to know?
