bailleyville il farm land will be growing windmills....
ogle county has approved a 90 million dollar project to build 40 wind mills on`5000 acres of farmland.

although ogle county is solid rethug it seems there are alot of people who grasp the idea of alernative energy. the measure passed with 2 no votes and those two were concerned about property issues and ogle county hosts an 2 day alterative energy fair each fall. maybe people are waking up.....

lee counties 40 wind mill site is 50-60 miles south of bailleyville just west and south of rt 39 and rt 30 in lee county.

1. I am so glad this passed.
And we are not as solidly rethug as you think. We are making inroads.

42% of my precinct voted Democratic in the last primary. Many people here are sick of dubya. We will have to get out and work for the votes of those who are beginning to doubt.

3. Oh. Dear. God.
I will have to tell my kids. They will get a good laugh. We all despise ronnie in this family.

I don't read the Dixon paper. It is a fascist mess.

4. I drove past that Lee County wind-farm, I didn't mind it all.
I was past there a year or so ago, and I thought that the windmills were not too bad to look at--kind of neat, really.

Maybe I'm just into the alternative energy idea, but I seriously wish Illinois would invest a lot more in Wind farms instead of places like the Clinton Nuke plant--which has NEVER been s durn at producing power.

5. Iowa has lots of windfarms
I lived near them. I can't see why anyone would oppose these. They keep some land from becoming sprawl, they provide safe alternative energy, and I really think they look neat. And, no, they aren't noisy.

7. It's me
I had a great time in Iowa, but my salary level (as required by the conference, has to do with experience, size of church, stuff like that) climbed beyond what the church there could pay. So, I'm back in Illinois. I'm in Ottawa. Just back from a week's vacation in Iowa. I'll get down to Champaign one of these days. I don't have any excuse for not doing so yet--I could go there and back on my day off! I will, promise!! Give my best to everyone!!

8. The environment is a great wedge issue for Democrats.
Democrats need to stop being so chickenshit about getting painted as tree-hugging extremists. Republicans have all sorts of wedge issues they use to get the votes of white middle class voters. The environment is our wedge issue and we should talk about it more often in ways that don't involve the loss of jobs. It even has appeal in rural areas like Ogle county.
