Well, as if it hasn't been said enough times before, WCPT's broadcasts (or lack thereof) are getting really annoying. It is barely 4:30 PM when their signal starts going to hell, and they shut down by 5:30 PM because of the day-timer rules. When the parent company has 2 FM 24 hour signals they can use, even though those signal are piss poor too. Now they have the "we play anything" theme on those FM signals; and IMO Jack FM's got that theme locked up pretty good, especially because Jack dispenses with the annoying disk jockeys and their small talk. There nothing more inane than "morning shows" and disk jockey political and current issue talk. They sound obviously dumb, repeat all the common cliches, and are all around wastes of time. But all this has been true for a long time, including WCPTs lousy signal even in the summer.
Now what has happenned is that AAR news is gone. Workers Independent News was gone a while ago, and while I'm no Marxist, it was a refreshingly different news. It was like listening to BBC, like hey man, there's a whole another world out there. But some management jerk off pulled that I suppose. So now they've puller AAR News too, and they have CNN Radio News, self-anointed "The Most Trusted Name in News." Yeah WCPT, I'm going to listen to MSM echo chamber news on your station, when I can get it on 43 other stations too.
What a bunch of fence-sitting wimps. Give us a proper signal, and just carry the whole thing. This way you're going to get some so-called undecideds, or so some media consultant jerk-off you hired probably says, but they'll jump soon as they get Stern on their XM, and you already lost me 'cause I just don't have the time for half-assed progressive radio effort.
And quit begging for advertisers and use to support your advertisers when you're just not committed to making a decent pass at it.
And AAR's madea complete hash of their morning lineup with this "On Ramp to AAR Morning" or some nonsense now, but that'll have to wait for another time. Well no, just forget it, I've got my choice of radio stations, and I'll check back on AAR in a month or two.
