New state law prohibits discrimination against gays
A new state law that goes into effect Sunday prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation or sexual identity. The new law:

-Makes it illegal under the Illinois Human Rights Act to discriminate against people based on sexual orientation or gender identity, along with race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, age, sex, marital or familial status or handicap.

-Allows complaints to be filed with the Illinois Department of Human Rights, which is charged with investigating.

-Exempts religious organizations and owner-occupied buildings of five apartments or less.

What Topinka say's she'll do and what the base would actually let her do are two different things.

6. Yes, Topinka would have.
She regularly marches in gay pride parades and supported this bill, just like George Ryan did. Building up false hope about Blagojevich is one reason many people are very disappointed, so lets not make Blago out to be more than he is.
