-assisting with training and managing volunteers
-assisting with supporter recruitment
-assisting with drafting assorted documents

Qualifications:
-strong interest in politics
-knowledge of data base, spreadsheet and word processing software
-internet savvy
-responsible, mature, and professional manner

While not necessary, the following qualifications are desired:

2. Not to be nasty, Joe, but...
It usually works better when asking for volunteers (you know--people who work for FREE?) to maybe offer reasons why they should give you time or money rather than snarky comments.

I'm not sure how many DUers even live in your district. You may want to consider that before you write every one here off. Many (if not most of us) also have day jobs as well as commitments to local campaigns.

Regards!

Laura (Who lives, works and volunteers in Champaign County...)

- my bad - I thought everyone was just ignoring me. Sorry, I am frustrated and working too d-mn hard at my jobs this campaign - and I really don't know the first thing about running a campaign. I make pizzas for a living now ya know... I really want to win this and start making our lives better in Illinois. I'm really sticking my neck out.

Any way I'm sorry for being a jerk.

Cheerio!

Joe

5. What part of Aurora do you cover
I have done some research around the 3rd ward and was going to wander the Hometown pct and pct 3-9 to the south of it. If some of my work takes me through the 50th I will gladly help. Especially if your campaign is going to doing some surveys

6. Hey!
I cover everything west of the river in Aurora and North Aurora and then into Montgomery. I was doing some research into the fund raising activities with in the district and found that (estimated) 75% of every dollar coming out of Aurora is for the Republican Party! I have a lot of work to do.

I need to GOTV two weeks before election day.

7. I may be an Aurora politics noob
If I was your campaign manager I would go after unions, and the local minority churches for fund raising assistance. Local democratic organizations are your best bet for volunteers. I hope you have somebody who can speak and write in spanish.

4. Thanks for running, Joe!
Sorry, I'm not in your district, but am glad you are running. If you haven't done so already, talk to your local county Democratic organization to try and get some monetary support and volunteer help from them. We did that in my district for our candidate running for US House.

Keep up the good fight!

10. DFA
Everyone is engaged in Congressional fights right now - it seems. I am getting some help from DFA but admittedly, I have not used them to their fullest extent.

I do need to use them more. Thanks for bringing that up.

party/network building is what "uphill" candidacies are for.

12. I've been working quite a bit with Leasch
Edited on Wed Jan-25-06 02:37 PM by gunsaximbo
Right now, his team is very busy. They've helped me a lot though with voter info and a few other things and I spent a lot of time collecting signatures for John

I'm in need of a competent campaign manager mostly, and a few volunteers to do research, canvassing, and helping me with some media responses.

As far a Reuben is concerned, he's a wonderful guy, but I've officially endorsed John, so I think Reuben would rather not lend too much support.
