and the Presidency - who is up for his Senate seat? and when does that happen?

8. all the more reason to appoint him,
to get him out of his hair. it would also work to his advantage to give it to lisa madigan.
i never liked pat quinn that much. i think he is quite a spectacle, the way he is out dissing blago. never seen the likes of it. must suck to be blago.

9. I wonder if there would be pressure to name a Black replacement
If Obama wins a seat in the Senate, there's a good chance that there will once again be no Black senator. I wonder if there will be pressure to name a Black politician to Obama's seat (at least on an interim basis) so that there's at least one Black person in that body.

12. Obama's Senate term ends with the 2010 election.
So "the rest of the term" and "the next election" are one and the same.
