Well, he's out.
I watched the vote and somehow it is surreal. The whole thing. I voted for him both times. Sad story and end for the reform candidate I so eagerly voted for the first time he ran for governor.

2. Voted for him in 2002
Voted Green Party in 2006.

Good riddance to him and his ungrateful wife.

voting Green for Governor was an easy decision.

3. The powers that be in Springpatch can relax now - they are rid of him.
Back to the old "business as usual."

Move along folks - "our long state nightmare is ovah!"

4. The real powers that be are not in the state capital,
the name of which is Springfield, btw.

And therein lies the problem.

5. I voted for him twice, but held my nose the second time.
If Judy hadn't been so awful a prospect as governor, I might've skipped the race altogether in 2006.

6. There's always the green candidate.
Which is how I voted that second time.

Blago the 'tap' of the iceberg
Call it pay to play or quid pro quo, that's how everybody does it here
29, 2009

BY MARY MITCHELL Sun-Times Columnist
snip
Most politicians in this state aren’t into “something-for-nothing,” even if the something isn’t anything more than front row tickets at an entertainment venue.

Whether you call it pay-to-play, quid pro quo or a shakedown, that’s the way business is done in Illinois.

snip
The governor was thrown out of office because like a speeder, he got caught while other speeders flew past.

Blagojevich will pay the fine.

snip

-----
Out of all those Senators who voted against him, how many of them have done the same thing. And when Daley was doing his cuckoo imitation a few days ago, I wonder what a wiretap of his home and office would reveal. If you take any big politician in this state, GOP or Democrat, what would wiretaps reveal about them.

10. What's your point?
Yeah, things work that way. Blago just took it a little farther than most.
Politicians used to make millions through the offices they held but things changed. It's time to change the way politics operates again and maybe convicting two Governors in a row will finally accomplish that.

11. the reformer.
It's so laughable now. If he had just come in and cleaned up state government, like he said he would, things could have gone so well for him. It was just another line like everything he claims he's doing "for people."
