Were you hurt by Blag's decision to drop Health Alliance?

This has been HUGE downstate--and I am wondering how many DUers have been impacted by this decision the state made to stop offering Health Alliance medical insurance. It has been front page locally (Home of Health Alliance)and down state, however, I doubt it has had much coverage up north. Health Alliance currently covers something like 90,000 state workers and retirees in downstate Illinois.

Friday, I was at our monthly Dem happy hour, and this was a major topic of discussion. I heard several folks saying they will not work to re-elect Blag if this goes thru--they are THAT pissed off. One guy made the comment that it is just another demonstration of how out of touch Blag is with downstate--that he has no realization of how serious this is to folks.

Is it serious to you? Have you heard about it? Got an opinion?

but i did know that the state was dropping osf last year. i`ve had john deere and osf and there isn`t much difference. the deal with the optical stinks, but that`s the way things are done in il. no matter who`s in charge. nothing ever changes but the names in illinois
nothing up here in the papers ,the trib had nothing as far as i`ve seen,didn`t get a chance to see the rockford and rock island papers today..

I have not heard a thing about it up here.

I don't agree with this particular decision because so many are going to lose their jobs over this. Not just people who work at Health Alliance, but some jobs at Carle and other local hospitals as well will be lost.
