That news comes on the heels of the announcement last week that the housing authority for Bloomington and McLean County is looking for ways to help 64 families losing their housing subsidies on April 30.
"This is the first time in 25 years that I've had to terminate any Section 8 vouchers," said Gayle May, executive director of the Ford County Housing Authority. "To me, it's horrible. The Congress doesn't put faces and lives to this."
Changes in the Department of Housing and Urban Development's Section 8 program will affect tens of thousands of low-income families, seniors and people with disabilities."
