Woo Hoo, saw my 1st DU bumper sticker
Well, besides my own and not at a meet up. Rand & Quentin, about 8 am, gray Prius. I was turning left, she was going straight. I honked and gave a thumbs up.

I hope she saw my bumper sticker in the rear window of my Civic.

Hi there, whoever you are!

i get a couple of e-mails a month from them with new people who have signed up for du.

edited to say, we could go for some good shopping destination this time, and maybe pick up some suburbanites that we don't usually see.

6. hiya greataunt
I am sooo pissed, in a way. I bought my civic as a company car, my partner (dad) said not to spend the money for a hybrid. He was actually upset I didn't get a buick or olds. Six months later, after driving my car, he got a civic hybrid and traded in his buick so I am stuck with the non-hybrid.

I guess between us we are more aware than most. er, were, he passed away on halloween.

Mom is driving it now.

Does she go to Quentin? Hey, how awesome! I have a bumber sticker but never put em on my bumper, keep it in my back windshield, plus it is 3 years old now and beaten up by the guys at the car wash.

Nice to meet ya, coffeenap. I've been in Lake Zurich for 20 years now, was on the Plan Commission for 16 yrs, until 6 months ago. Was on the board for a while in the LZBSA.

Thank you, for making MY day!

very cool!

peaceout doodess!

PM me if ya wanna talk sometime. Any fellow DUer is a friend of mine!

on edit: traffic SUCKED this morning. I had an interview at 10 in Carol Stream. Left the house at 7:50, didn't get to my office 14.5 miles away in Arlington Heights until 8:50. I HATE the 1st dusting of snow each year when everyone forgets how to drive! BUT, I saw another DU bumper sticker!!!!!! thx!

also, if your daughter went to Quentin you would have been in the left turn lane too, Middle School South perchance?

9. HI! Nice to meet you too!
My daughter goes to a school in Palatine, thus the straight-ahead lane. Good for you being on the LZ Plan Commission! We live outside of LZ, uninicorporated area, and have for 11 years. I haven't been able to bring myself to join anything around here--except my son and I worked on the first Bean campaign (now wondering why sometimes...). I am a Girl Scout leader--love that--adolescents are a trip!

Sorry about the traffic -- you just never know. This morning was totally smooth. Oh well, I moved out here to be away from things so that is the price we pay to go back in. (Thus, the Prius, because I also drive to Grayslake almost daily.)

Best wishes to you--go glad you honked and posted!

18. Quest Academy

You may know it by it's former name, Creative Children's Academy (CCA).

Did you miss anything...I don't think so, but it may have changed for the better.

Cheers!

17. I hear you about Missy Bean
although given a choice between her and Crane... :eyes: it's a no brainer! When the time comes after 2006, she'll voye aye for impeachment.

Adolescents ARE a trip. I coached baseball for 8 years until my son was too old, even then I stayed on and ran the colt league for a coupla years. GAWD, that was fun!

As mopinko said upthread, maybe we should have a suburban meetup sometime. I've been to a couple downtown and had fun but it's a trek.

Take care!

19. I Saw A DU Sticker in Wheaton!!!!
I honked and gave a thumbs up. I suspect the driver thought I was giving the middle finger salute (that's not only reserved for those with GW stickers...but it's generally done not by just one but two or four of us...depending if my wife and kids are in the car).

A couple weeks ago, I saw a Toyota with a DU sticker in downtown Wheaton...Billy Grahamville...DuPateFuckingPhillipsPage County...and sure looked like a local. Things sure have come a long way when I felt like I was the lone Democrat in Hanover Township.

Cheers...
