Why should I be sproutin' Wood over the prospect of a "Native Son"...
...running in '08?
Evan is still for us on the Enviroment, but he's sold us out in practically every other vote since he went to Washington.

He rides around in Eli Lilly and Pfizer's jockstraps. He STILL believes So-Dum Insane had Weapons of Mass Dysfunction. He thinks it's a Good Thing, this "Freedom on the March" thing. How many people had "Freedom" blow up in their faces today?

Non of us (the SMART ones, anyway) fell for Joe-Mentum LIEbermann's bullshit, why should we be expected to fall for the same line of crap just because it's in a Hoosier wrapper?

But there he is, just the same...Your "ReTHUG Lite" Great Corporate Hope for 2008, Evan Bayh....

1. Re: "Why should I be sproutin' Wood over the prospect of a "Native Son"...
Not too fond of Evan myself, pretty much a poll following tool. But Jesus Christ! This Daniels guy (Indiana guv) is a complete piece of shit! Cut from the same Little Napoleanic crap as Bush.

2. Indeed he is, "Our Bitch Mitch".
But he's not running for President in 2008,is he? And he's 110% step-on-the-little-guy's-face ReTHUGlican.

Bayh is a DLC "NEW Democrat", and with that I see him confusing people on his lack of Progessiveness.

"New Democrat"="ReTHUGlican Lite"

To get back to Our Bitch Mitch, Napolean is a little too mild. I think another suitable nick-name would be "Il Duce", or "Il Douche". He says he's already working on his ""agenda" for next year's session of the World's Worst Legislature, gotta get busy, can't waste the People's Money, y'know, and this place needs setting to rights and all. Needs some shakin' up...PNAC comes to Hoosierland...:-(

4. Bayh/Boxer '08
That's why.

Evan would take Indiana. If every other state that went blue last time around stuck with the donkey, then Hoosiers could put Bayh into the White House. I wouldn't be content with Bayh, but we have to win.

It may be a mistake to team up two Senators again, but Boxer would be the DLC's promise to the true liberals of the party that we will finally have a progressive President again. And wouldn't you love to see someone like Boxer presiding over the Senate for eight years?

6. Not a chance in hell.
That ticket would lose worse than Mondale/Ferraro.
Bayh is an empty-suit pretty boy who oversaw but did nothing about a 100% fucked up state gov't while he was Governor, sings whatever song the audience he's in front of wants to hear, and is pretty much only in politics because he can't get a real job so he's capitalizing on the family name ... just like the current squatter at 1600.

Bayh at the top of the ticket ? :puke: No thanks.

8. I apologize for offending your senses.
It's a pragmatic choice. Bayh has not had his reputation horribly destroyed by the attack dogs, and, although I find portions of his voting record horribly wrong, I bet that (save for some real lame duck scandals coming out of the White House in the next couple years) our only real chance of breaking the stalemate is running a Democrat who is very popular in at least one of the larger red states.

Clark and Clinton are sadly out of the question; they've been tarnished. I definitely disagree with your Mondal/Ferraro analogy; we're not going to be up against a popular incumbent. None of the states that went blue in 2004 are going to go red, the Republicans are not going to run a populist in '08. For all we know, Rice is going to run.

I'm sure you realize that we need to wrestle at least one heavily Republican state to our side. How do you see us doing that?

9. But I should mention that....
my dream ticket is Clinton/Boxer! I'd like to think those ladies would tear the Republicans a new one. I'm just not sure which states would go our way. Florida, Arkansas, Ohio,...?

11. If he'd just take a hard STAND on something!
But no....Gets too much $$$ from PHARMA to do anything about them, gets invited to snackies with Shrub, Jowly Joe, et al. in the Rose Garden and comes away spouting the "A whole SWIMMING POOL full of ANTHRAX!" lie like a pod-person.

I wonder how Howard likes him? I KNOW Terry and Donna liked him.

The only thing he has going for him is he speaks well, looks good on camera, and has a cute family (I have memories of seeing Susan running down 46th street in pink lycra...)

12. that is a good criticism
that he doesn't take a stand. He was a much better gov and his positions were more solid then.

I can't stand Joe. I'm Jewish and I think he disgraces us. Further, his wife with her "my little Joey" stuff makes my entire family want to hurl.
