Water Usage
Edited on Mon Jun-27-05 12:58 PM by ls317
Indianapolis Water officials are asking residents to stop watering lawns, to make sure there’s enough water for local fire departments.

The utility’s 290,000 customers in Marion County and surrounding areas have set water-use records twice in the past three days, and we’re on track to set another record today as the heat continues.

1. HAHAHAHAHAHA
Yeah, I'm sure the lawn jockeys up in Carmel and Fishers are going to stop watering their precious, manicured lawns.

2. Good Point
Thats a tough call, chill out on the water usage or deal with total water shut off for an hr at a time???
But if they open up the reserves from Morse and Geist Reservoirs, that means folks cant get in there boats because the water level will be too low...???

3. Have the golf courses in Carmel & Zionsville that use Indpls. Water
stopped watering the greens? Greenwood too.

Good question. I remember in the drought of 1988, they found a bunch of them that were on Indianapolis Water Co. lines were still hissing away with their sprinklers up there. Indpls. Water Co lines go OUT of the county in a number of directions.

5. Not sure about that - but on the south side
when it gets very hot and humid with little air movement, the sewer stench wafts all the way up towards Fountain Square. Had that great aroma at least one day last week. But haven't noticed it in the smell of the water... yet.
