1. I watched about half of it on the net
www.wanetv.com has it. It was nothing new, about a half an hour is all I can stomach of Mark Souder. It is funny to see Souder squirm and whine. Dr. Tom seem to be using all the usual talking points, but I did like the exchange regarding our dependency on oil. Souder said we must drill, drill and drill...ANWAR, Gulf of Mexico. Hayhurst touted alternative fuels and mentioned Brazil's situation of being completely self-sufficient when it comes to fuel.

The RNC is running attack ads against Hayhurst and I've read that they've invested $150,000.00 for those ads. Now, I wonder if they are worried why they are spending that much money on a race that was so solid Republican? I guess it could be Ohio Dewine money since they've bailed on that race...

2. I wish the truth would come out
about the ANWAR drilling. Jared Diamond said on (I think) Diane Rehm's show last year that the oil companies don't want to invest the money into drilling up there because there's not enough oil to justify the cost! Souder's nothing but an idiot.

3. More to your question,
I didn't watch it but I read about it in the paper. Both of them said that the bible was infallible - my first thought was - bullshit! and my second thought was - what the hell is that doing in a fucking political debate?! Where's the separation between church and state?

5. Souder
Am I the only person that thinks Souder looks like a pasty older version of Bevis? Does he have some sort of illness causing facial rigidness?

6. Saw the replay last night and got bored about half way through
the event. I felt that Hayhurst missed alot of chances to tie Souder to the Bush gang. When Souder charged Hayhurst with being "a tax and spend liberal" a chance was missed to brand Souder " a borrow and spend Republican."

My impression was that Hayhurst wouldn't take the top gun advice and turn into the fight.

I will vote for Hayhurst however. I don't think that Souder would have done a thing about the closing of the vet hospital inpatient wards had it not been for Hayhurst mobilizing the area vets.
