Clinton campaign owes Indiana University $55K
As an alumna and grad student that has to pay very high tuition, I find Hillary's disdain for paying her bills (some dating back to New Hampshire) to be another red flag of how she will manage the nation's resources were she to get to the White House.

Obama pays his bills!

Clinton campaign owes IU $55K

Updated: May 23, 2008 11:18 PM EDT

Sen. Hillary Clinton's campaign owes IU nearly $55,000 from an April visit.

A Chelsea Clinton appearance at IU has yet to be paid for.

Indianapolis - Indiana University says it may have to tap into reserve funds to cover a campaign visit by Hillary Clinton.

The New York senator and Democratic presidential candidate owes IU $55,000 from a stop at Assembly Hall. Her opponent, Senator Barack Obama, held a similar rally there, but his campaign paid up their nearly $100,000 bill.

The bills started to add up when the candidate's daughter Chelsea appeared on her mother's behalf at the Indiana University auditorium at a cost of $3,000. That was followed by two more events.

"The total for all three events was $55,000 and we have not been paid yet," said IU spokesman Larry MacIntyre.

The other two events were held in Assembly Hall, a much larger - and more expensive - venue to entice voters.

1. The bill is only three weeks old
whatever happened to "net-30 days"? But, perhaps
it is best to concentrate on another non-issue issue.
I did not attend IU, however, would you suggest
my next contribution to the IU Foundation be earmarked
for this purpose?

2. I, too, am an alumna, and I'd rather see I.U. tap into its reserve
fund for just about anything else than paying off political campaign expenditures. Not exactly a sign of Sen. Clinton's economic prowess. I was heartened to read that Sen. Obama's bill to the university, nearly double Sen.Clinton's, has been paid.
